Carnage
This performance draws inspiration from the myth of Niobe, who boasted her progenitive superiority to Leto, who had only two children, Apollo and Artemis. They were charged by their mother to kill Niobe’s 12 children as punishment for her pride. Overwhelmed with grief, Niobe asked Zeus to turn her into a rock so as to weep eternally.
A painful journey into the conflict between human and divine feelings where gestures, actions and emotions develop and petrify in a dramatically still image showing the carnage.
The company’s peculiar combination of classical, neoclassical and contemporary styles is masterfully expressed thanks to a striking choreography where figures blend with sculptures and acquire a timeless dimension.
