Light from Italy: from Fattori to Morandi

Masterpieces in dialogue from the Uffizi Galleries and the Latvian National Museum of Art

From July 5 to November 30, 2025, the Latvian National Museum of Art in Riga will host the exhibition Light from Italy: From Fattori to Morandi. The masterpieces from the Galleria d’Arte Moderna of Palazzo Pitti (Uffizi Galleries in Florence) will engage in dialogue with extraordinary works from the late 19th century and early 20th century from the collection of the Latvian National Museum of Art.

For the first time in Northern Europe, a significant selection of late 19th and early 20th-century works from the Uffizi Galleries will be displayed: 74 pieces from the permanent collection of the Galleria d’Arte Moderna of Palazzo Pitti, representing the main movements of Italian art – from the Macchiaioli to Divisionism, from Symbolism to Italian Expressionism, from Futurism to the Return to Order.

This international project is organized by the Uffizi Galleries with the Latvian National Museum of Art in collaboration with Nuova Artemarea and is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, the Municipality of the City of Riga, and the Embassy of Italy in Riga
