VASARI CORRIDOR - RULES GOVERNING SPECIAL OPENING TIMES

ADMISSION

When the Galleria delle Statue e delle Pitture (the Uffizi Gallery proper) is only partly open in order to admit visitors solely to the Vasari Corridor, you will only be admitted to the Gallery if you hold the following ticket:

“Vasari Corridor – Special Opening” – Regular € 20.00, Concessions € 2.00, Free € 0.00

- This ticket admits the holder to the Vasari Corridor only; to reach the Corridor, you need to pass through certain rooms in the Galleria delle Statue e delle Pitture but you may not visit any part of the Gallery while passing through. The meeting point is indicated on the Gallerie degli Uffizi’s official website, www.uffizi.it and on your ticket.

- In order to proceed with your reservation and to finalise your purchase, you must read and agree to these “rules governing access to the Vasari Corridor”, otherwise you will not be able to complete your purchase.

All tickets are personal, nominal and non-transferable.

For security reasons, reservations are compulsory and are pegged to time-slot availability for all visitors without exception. There is no extra charge for tour guides, handicapped visitors and their carers, children under the age of six or SDA Culture Passport holders.

Reservations cannot be changed once a purchase has been completed.

PURCHASING YOUR TICKET

Reservations may be made on line, via our call centre or at the Gallery’s ticket offices during standard opening hours. No more than five tickets may be purchased at any one time, even for different dates and/or time slots.

GENERAL INFORMATION

- The Corridor is roughly 1 km long, plus an additional 100 mt. from the Buontalenti Grotto exit in the Boboli Garden to the Rondò di Bacco exit in Piazza Pitti.

- A visit to the Vasari Corridor lasts approximately 35 minutes. Visitors are not permitted to linger for any length of time during the visit.

- Groups are made up of a total of 25 visitors (including carers, private guides etc.) plus the Gallerie degli Uffizi staff members who accompany the group for the duration of the visit.

- Groups must stay together for both security and safety reasons. No visitor may leave the group. Visitors must comply with accompanying staff members' instructions at all times.

- Cloakroom, audio-guide and whisper services are not available on these occasions .

- Small umbrellas are permitted as long as they fit in a pocket or handbag.

- Access with bulky items (e.g. suitcases of any size, backpacks, rucksacks, large umbrellas etc.) is strictly prohibited. Visitors showing up with such items will not be admitted to the Corridor, nor can the cost of their ticket be refunded.

- Gallerie degli Uffizi staff accompany visitor groups but they are not tour guides.

- Tour guides may provide their groups with explanation and commentary only: after museum staff have finished providing the group with all logistical, safety and security information required for the visit; showing respect for other visitors and using their own whisper devices as much as possible.

- Tour guides already holding a reservation may only be replaced by other tour guides authorised before the tour begins.

- The Vasari Corridor is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility or physical disabilities with their own wheelchair or walker with an overall weight (i.e. including the user) of no more than 230 kg or an overall length of no more than 120 cm;

- Visitors with reduced mobility may use the courtesy wheelchairs and walkers provided by the Gallerie degli Uffizi (on demand, while stocks last): use of these is free of charge, no reservation or deposit is required; wheelchairs/walkers must be handed back to the Gallery staff accompanying the group at the end of the Vasari Corridor before leaving the premises;

- In the event the lifting platform is out of order, thus preventing visitors with reduced mobiliy or physical disabilities from accessing the Vasari Corridor, the price of the ticket will be refunded.

- Photography is permitted, but without professional equipment and solely for personal use.

- Video footage is not permitted while visiting the Corridor.

- Using images of the Vasari Corridor for promotional or advertising purposes is strictly prohibited without express prior authorisation from the Gallerie degli Uffizi Management.

ENTERING AND EXITING THE CORRIDOR

- Your ticket shows the time your tour starts, the position of the meeting point and the name of the visitor authorised to enter the Corridor.

- Tickets are inspected before the tour begins. You will be required to show valid ID (with a photograph) to ensure that your name matches the name on the ticket.

- You must show up at the Meeting Point at least 10 minutes before your time slot. Failure to do so will entail the loss of your right to enter the Corridor. Groups are made up of a set number of visitors, so you will be unable to join your group once it has already set out on its tour.

We would remind visitors that damaging or soiling cultural assets in any way is considered a criminal offence. Offenders will be prosecuted under Article 518 duodecies in the Italian Penal Code.
