Amorphous Moments
Chinese dancer Xiao Huang executes an original and evocative performance in front of the “Birth of Venus” by Botticelli to represent the dialogue between Western and Eastern Beauties. Her movements will get slower, as in slow motion, and create a dynamic complex of signs expressing a physical and spiritual energy at the same time. Allusions will range from the visual art works by Bill Viola, to the plastic poses of Western sculpture and painting, the Japanese Kabuki theatre, the Zen philosophy of emptiness and the unity of opposites.
