What the statues narrate: Opening event off the Uffizi Live 2018 program

From ancient rhetoric to contemporary narrative. A moving performance.

"What the Statues narrate" is an experimental project especially designed for the students of class III C of Liceo Classico “Michelangiolo” of Florence who attended a work-related learning project at the Department of School and Youth of the Uffizi, in collaboration with the Pergola Theatre

The guided tour  "What the Statues Narrate" takes place in the Gallery and follows a selection of ancient statues tied to the Latin poem “Metamorphoses” by Ovid, and a selection of 20th century poems which relate to these works of art. The manager of the collection of antiquities of the Uffizi Galleries, Dr. Fabrizio Paolucci, suggested the selection of statues, while director and drama teacher Maestro Marco Toloni curated the choice of the poems and the artistic training of the students.

This moving performance is the opening event off Uffizi Live 2018 program and inaugurates the special opening of the Uffizi each Tuesday until 10pm.
