The Uffizi Museum conserves many portraits of private women that are wrongly identified in the inventory of the Museum as Iuliae Titii, Domitia or Plotina due to their particular hairstyle, with masses of curls shaped in high arching crowns. Because of their similar head of hair and of their equal titles and descriptions in the gallery inventories, it is very difficult to retrace the collecting events of each portrait.

Starting from the so-called Iulia Titii conserved in the Vasari corridor, this article wants to clarify the elaborate sequences of these different female portraits, defining their date of entry into the gallery and their movements over time.
