Apriti Cinema 2026

From 15 June to 26 July, Piazza de' Pitti will once again become Florence's most enchanting open-air cinema under the stars.

Every evening at 9:45 PM, admission is free until all seats are taken, offering audiences the chance to experience great cinema in the magnificent square facing Pitti Palace in the heart of Florence's historic center.

More than 40 free screenings will feature premieres, special guests, and tributes to the history of cinema.

The program includes feature films and documentaries from major international festivals, journeys through different cultures and cinematic languages, adaptations of great literary works, homages to leading figures of past and present cinema, and a screening with audio description for blind and visually impaired audiences.

The initiative is part of the Estate Fiorentina cultural program promoted by the City of Florence. It is organized by the association Quelli dell'Alfieri, with programming curated by La Compagnia, in collaboration with the Uffizi Galleries.
