Stefano Bruni - Florence, the Medici and the Etruscans

Lecture in Italian - Vasari Auditorium – 19th May 2019

Stefano Bruni, Professor of Etruscology and Italic Antiquities at the University of Ferrara, examines the relationship between the Medici family and the Etruscan world. He takes into account literary texts by authors of the time (commissioned by the Medici themselves) and small and large bronze sculptures, such as the famous Chimera, with the aim of reconstructing the history of the Medici family and tracing its origins back to the time of the Etruscans.
