Giuseppe Sassatelli - The Etruscan world. Common places and real knowledge

Lecture in Italian - Vasari Auditorium – 12th June 2019

Etruscologist, archaeologist and Italian scholar Giuseppe Sassatelli, currently President of the National Institute of Etruscan and Italian Studies, addresses commonplaces and real knowledge about the Etruscans. He discusses about three main topics: their origins (from Lidia or Italy?), their vision of death through funerary art (anguish or necessary passage?), their language (unknown or difficult to read?).
