Black Presence - VIII

Video in English | Alessandro de' Medici, illegitimate son of Lorenzo de' Medici and Simonetta, a black African slave, in two works by Vasari and Bronzino, described by Justin Randolph Thompson (BHMF)

Black Presence is a project of the Uffizi Galleries focusing on the presence of black culture in Renaissance Europe.
The project runs through the connection of some subjects in a series of works of the Gallery, in which black characters are the protagonists that play a central role in the work's composition.
