This double event brings the magic of Christmas to the White Hall with a concert resulting from a collaboration between the Enzo Hruby Foundation of Milan, which for ten years has supported the protection of Italian cultural heritage against theft and vandalism, the Musica con le Ali Association and the Uffizi Galleries.
The protagonists of the Christmas Concert will be Giulia Attili, a young cellist of great value supported by the Musica con le Ali Association, and the Lyskamm Quartet, which since its foundation in 2008 at the Milan Conservatory has quickly achieved fame thanks to the talents of its musicians: Cecilia Ziano (violin), Clara Franziska Schötensack (violin), Francesca Piccioni (viola) and Giorgio Casati (cello). The programme features the String Quartet in D minor K. 421 by Mozart and the Quintet for strings in C major Op. 163 D. 956 by Schubert.
The Christmas Concert will host the presentation of the CD "From Florence to Europe", containing excerpts from the concerts held last November at Palazzo Pitti, with pieces by Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Schumann and Janacek performed by the young talents of Musica con le Ali who performed during the Festival: Lucilla Rose Mariotti (violin), Martina Consonni (piano), Emma Pestugia (piano), Giulia Attili (cello), Werther Quartet, Erica Piccotti (cello) and Lavinia Bertulli (piano). They are joined by well-known pianists Roberto Arosio and Filippo Gamba, and the Bologna Senzaspine Orchestra conducted by Fabio Conocchiella.
The work is also embellished by a piece recorded for the occasion in the White Hall by the famous cellist Giovanni Sollima, who joined the initiative by offering one of his most evocative pieces: the Concerto Rotondo.
The CD will be on sale exclusively in the bookshops of the Uffizi Galleries and other museums in Florence.
