Palatine Gallery. Temporary closure of the Saturn Room

The closure involves a partial change to the tour itinerary

The Room of Saturn (Palatine Gallery) will be closed to the public from Tuesday 24 March until Tuesday 28 April 2026. At the same time, the adjacent Room of Jupiter will reopen.

The alternative visitor route, clearly indicated to visitors, involves following the normal route to the Room of the Iliad; from there, visitors must then retrace their steps in the opposite direction to the Room of Prometheus. From there, they will enter the Room of Jupiter and continue their visit to the subsequent rooms of Mars, Apollo, Venus and the Room of the Niches, from where they will then proceed to the exit.

The most important masterpieces normally on display in the Room of Saturn can be seen in other rooms of the Gallery that are open to the public. In particular, the "Madonna della Seggiola" and the portrait of Cardinal Inghirami are in the Room of Mars, the double portrait of the Doni couple is in the Room of Apollo, and the "Madonna del Granduca" is in the Room of Venus.
