This long, straight, sleeveless gown is comprised of cream silk organza spirals reminiscent
of large roses whose size increases as they descend. Maurizio Galante embarked on his
career in 1983, when he started to design a line under the Circolare label. He first showed
his work on the Milan catwalk in 1990 before moving to Paris in 1991, initially with prêt-à-
porter collections and then, from 1993 on, with haute couture. Influenced by Roberto
Capucci (1930), one of his masters, Galante works with volumes and the play of surfaces to
produce highly effective sculptural garments that redefine the female figure.
Donated by Maurizio Galante, 2006
