A straight evening dress in pleated cream muslin silk, with bolero. The sleeveless dress
has a small, high-waisted smooth bodice from which tight pleating descends. The bodice
is adorned with a bow of the same material reaching to the ground and with a bouquet of
flowers in organza and raffia. The raffia and muslin bolero is richly embroidered with
volute motifs made of small pearl beads and Swarovski crystals. The leitmotif of this suit
lies in the unique juxtaposition of different types of fabric such as silk with other more
textural fabrics such as Viennese cane and raffia that manages to strike an overall balance.
Donated by Gianfranco Ferré, 2000
