Here is what the Uffizi Galleries will offer on 20th and 21st May on the occasion of the 2017 Museum Feast.

20th May

Saturday morning:

 

The Uffizi, from 10 am until 1 pm. Family-friendly tour “Flowers in the Galleries”. Free booklets (available in English and Spanish) will be handed out to allow the discovery of an autonomous didactic itinerary dedicated to flowers on view in the Gallery’s artworks. Project curated by School and Youth Department, in collaboration with the Gallery’s staff.

The Uffizi, 10.00/11.00/12.00 . “The technique of painting on panel”, discovering the craftsmen’s secrets with experts. Free booklets on that topic in Italian, English, French and Spanish will be handed out.

The Uffizi, Prints and Drawings Dept., 10.00 am and 11.30 am. “The Story of Judith in the drawings by Giuliano da Sangallo” curated by the Cultural Mediation and Accessibility Department. Meeting point at the entrance of the exhibition “Giuliano da Sangallo: Drawings from the Uffizi”, first floor, access from the main entrance staircase.

Pitti Palace, Modern Art Gallery, 10.00 am and 11.30 am. “The solitude of the enemy”: visiting tour dedicated to the works narrating often forgotten episodes of the Italian War of Independence. Seemingly opposed to one another, but in fact united by the element of solitude, the figures of the hero and the enemy will be adequately discussed about.

Boboli Garden, 10.30 am. “The bench of fairytales”. Bianca Maria Landi, curator of the botanical Garden of Boboli, and Paolo Basetti, gardener, will be the special storytellers of old and new tales, both for adults and kids.

Saturday afternoon:

The Uffizi, first floor, 2.30 pm and 4.00 pm. Guided tour of the exhibition “Plautilla Nelli. Convent Art and Devotion on the footsteps of Savonarola” curated by the Uffizi staff. Meeting point at the entrance of the exhibition, on the first floor of the Gallery.

The Uffizi, first floor, 3.30 pm and 5.00 pm. Guided tour of the exhibition “Leonardo da Vinci’s Magic Cosmos, the Restored Adoration of the Magi”. Meeting point at the entrance of the exhibition, on the first floor of the Gallery.

The Uffizi, Prints and Drawings Department, 3.00 pm and 4.00 pm. Guided tour of the exhibition “Giuliano da Sangallo, Drawings from the Uffizi”, curated by the staff in charge of the Euploos project. Meeting point at the entrance of the exhibition, first floor, access from the main entrance staircase.

Boboli Garden, from 3.30 pm until 6.30 pm. “The bench of fairytales”. The students of the Florentine high school “I.I.S. Sassetti Peruzzi” will animate the garden with old and new tales for kids.

21st May
