Monument to the alpine troops

Monument to the alpine troopsThis monument is dedicated to the Italian alpine forces whe died during the Russian campaign of WW2. The sculpture has a shape which brings to mind movie film, old film from 50 years ago. The shape is also that of the feather worn in the hat of the alpine troops, the alpine troops that walk towards their grave, towards death, without weapons in their hands. The soldier who looks back in a final salute evokes a strong emotional response from the onlooker. The emotions emanated from this sculplture are an example of how a monument can be alive.

Il pianista

Il pianistaThe sculpture entitled "Il pianista" is a monument dedicated to the concept of music, one of man’s most profound expressions. A salient feature of this sculpture is the presence of flowing lines which bend upwards towards the heavens, as does music itself. The pianist’s face, which is at first glance hidden from the viewer, expresses the suffering of the musician whose music is misunderstood. Emphasis is placed on the missing piano, which exists even if it is not seen, and hence has greater presence than the pianist himself.

The sculpture has not found a permanent collocation yet.

Monument to Carabinieri perished in a flight accident in Volpiano

Monument to Carabinieri perished in flight accident in Volpiano (bozzetto)The plastic (stainless satinized steel) construction recalls the fallen helicopter, while the four "sails" placed at the base of the sculpture represents the bodies of the four victims. On each "sail" their christian names have been engraved. The flames raise. The bodies of the four victims were found in the same position Gioachino Chiesa manages to render so well plastically. The forms tend towards the sky as we imagine the souls leaving the bodies.
